Allergy Testing

Allergy testing can determine which triggers (allergens) make someone’s immune system overreact. Allergy skin tests, blood tests, lung function tests or challenge tests may help diagnose the cause of chronic cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, rashes, food allergies and severe reactions to insect stings.

  •   I came in for a general allergy test and could not have been more happy with the care from Dr. Gibbon. He made me feel extremely comfortable, was incredibly informative, and spent so much time talking with me about my issues. He provided care that I've never experienced with any doctor and would highly recommend!

Dr. Gibbon cares for you as if you're a family member-- a very rare trait in physicians these days.  He is genuinely caring, patient, experienced and incredibly knowledgeable in his field.  I've come across him for a pesky viral infection I caught over the winter that left me with a stubborn asthmatic cough for months.  Dr. Gibbon treated me with utmost care and followed up continuously until I was a 100% well.  During this time, he was easily reached, available, and concerned.  He has also taken the time to educate me in many health aspects that were crucial in my treatment, and furthermore, in my family's overall health.  I am very thankful to have met Dr. Gibbon.

I have worked for many physicians for over 50 years. Because they were the best of the best in their field, I know an excellent one when being treated myself. Dr. Gibbon is an excellent diagnostician as well as very caring and compassionate doctor.

My experience as a patient with Dr. Gibbon was exceptional. He took all the time necessary to thoroughly consider my health status and worked with me to find the least invasive and least expensive tests to determine my illness. He took it upon himself to work with my insurance carrier to provide me the most cost effective medication. With a few tests and 2 visits, my problem was diagnosed and treated and now a few weeks later I am symptom/stress free being relieved to know my diagnosis was not the worst imagined.
I am very impressed with Dr. Gibbon who specializes in Pulmonology and Allergies.

  •   After going to two dermatologists to get the same misdiagnosis, I decided to see an allergist. So happy I did! Dr Gibbon is not only skilled and knowledgeable but actually cares too. He spent so much time with me and was determined to get to the bottom of what was causing my issue. And he did! I'm so much better and can't recommend him enough.

It was easy to make an appointment for allergy testing. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and informative.
I had to go off of all antihistamines (Benadryl, Claritin, Zyrtec) and eye drops for the test, which was scary at first because I have really bad allergies to all kinds of things but I got through it for the week prior to the test.

Dr. Gibbon listened carefully to all my health issues and addressed each concern with an amazing amount of knowledge.

I was sure about some allergens that trigger me but as far as food allergies I was all mixed up! I was avoiding food that I wasn't allergic to and eating things that I had no idea was affecting me. Needless to say I have a minor shellfish and fruit allergy which is common but now I know!!!

Thank you Dr. Gibbon for helping me!

Dr. Gibbon was patient, thorough, and genuinely interested in helping me find out what was wrong; in today's world of being rushed through doctor visits, I was really impressed by the care I received in his office.

  •   I love love Dr. Gibbon!

I haven't had a doctor sit with me for this long and ask me this many questions (and be on time) since the day I was born. He is so kind, looks you in the eye, and truly cares about taking care of you. I am so happy I found him, one of the best physicians in Los Angeles!

The office understands the disconnect between insurance and their office and is going to make some    changes with billing. The overall price I pay now per appointment for what I had done is $270. My insurance covered a very small portion. But the office is working with me to make payments. Maybe I don't have good insurance, who knows. Dr. Gibbon is a good doctor and I am happy for the allergy information he gave me.

I took my four year old to Dr Gibbon's office for a skin test.  What I learned has changed our lives for the better.  Dr Gibbon tested for things other doctors had not thus revealing that our four year old is allergic to corn.  This is huge as we were feeding him corn in place of gluten.  His prior doctors had not tested for corn.  I think Dr Gibbon is innovative and up to date on environmental influences as they relate to our current day to day living.  His staff was polite and friendly and super tolerant of a wild four year old boy in a red cape.
